When you become one of our consumer customers: Our lawful basis for processing data is consent. This is captured verbally through a phone call to yourself to confirm you are happy for your data, input into our webform, to be transferred to our trusted providers. All our calls are recorded for compliance checking.
We will process your name and contact details (phone number, email and postal address) so that we can put you in contact with Trusted suppliers who will be providing you with the home improvement quotes you have requested, answering any enquiries you may have and monitoring how the Trusted suppliers we work with are performing.
We will call you to check that we have the correct information and learn about how we can connect you with the best quotes in your geographical area. We may send you an SMS message if your enquiry is received outside our operational hours or to provide an update on the progress of your enquiry. An SMS opt will be provided after failure to connect via phone.
Our phone calls are recorded for training purposes however if you are uncomfortable with this, we will not proceed with the call and delete the recording. We also use aggregated and anonymised data to keep records for our own business use.
For certain home improvement enquiries where we have been unable to reach you by telephone, we will send you an email to introduce you to a maximum of two of our ‘Trusted Third Party Suppliers’ who may contact you directly to help you obtain a comparison quote for the specific home improvement measure. Your information is important to us, and we ensure our suppliers are established through reference and credit checks and certified to work in their relevant industries. Our Trusted partners will be registered with Gas Safe for the replacement of boilers, be a registered member of FENSA, CERTASS, ASSURE or the Consumer Protection Association (CPA) for fenestration products in England and Wales, and will offer insurance backed guarantees (IBG’s) in Scotland. All our Trusted renewable energy partners that offer quotations for solar panels and air source heat pumps will be registered with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. (MCS)
Currently we work with over 300 trusted suppliers throughout the UK, examples of some of the suppliers are Heatable Ltd, Anglian Home Improvements and Verisure Services UK Ltd. We are happy to share the names of any of our other partners who may contact you (maximum of two) to assist you in obtaining quotes on request.
When you become one of our business customers: We will process your name and business contact details (phone number, email and postal address) so that we register you and put you in touch with our consumer customers who have requested home improvements quotes from you. Our contract is with your business however we will process the personal data of our business customers under our legitimate interest. We have done a balancing test to ensure that we are processing your personal data fairly and respectfully.
When you send us an enquiry: You may have sent us an enquiry via the contact page on our website. We will collect your name and contact details as it is in our legitimate interest to do so that we can enter into correspondence with you and answer your enquiry.
How long do we keep your personal data?
If you have consented to non-essential cookies: You can find out more about our cookies and update your preference on our Cookies Consent Management Platform.
If you are a consumer customer of ours: we will keep your personal data for as long as we have business dealings with you and then for a further 12 months. This is because the quotes that you obtain are valid for up to a period of 12 months and it is important for us to be able to assist with any enquiries you have during that time.
If you have consented to receive email marketing from us, we will keep your personal data until you unsubscribe. If you choose not to engage with our email marketing messages for a period of 12 months, we will not email you again and put your personal data on a suppression list.
If you are a business customer of ours: we will keep your personal data for as long as we have a contract with you and then for a further 7 years in accordance with HMRC guidelines.
How do we use your personal data to communicate with you?
Non-Marketing Communications include: service messages regarding quotes or appointments from our third party services to enquiries and other communications to ensure that we deliver the services you expect from us.
If you are one of business customers, you will receive emails regarding your registration, services messages and invoices. You will have access to our members area dashboard portal where you can find more information about your account details with us.
Marketing Communications include: Emails regarding other services we offer as well as content marketing we hope you will find useful. If you are one of our consumer customers, you will only receive email marketing from us if you have given us your consent. We do send out unsolicited email marketing messages to our business customers when we feel we have a legitimate interest to do so. You are welcome to unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time.
If you have consented to marketing cookies such as Facebook Pixels you may be served Facebook Ads regarding our services. You can change your cookies consent at any time by visiting our Cookie Consent Management Platform. You may also wish to change your Facebook settings if you don’t want to see targeted advertising.
Social Media: We use Facebook, and LinkedIn (for business purposes). We sometimes use paid advertising on these platforms, but we will only use custom audiences with your consent. You can find a copy of this Privacy Notice on our Facebook page in the ‘About’ section.
Social Plugins: We use social plugins on our website pages which allow you to share products with your friends and families. These buttons are deactivated by default and only activated once you click on them. When you click on these buttons your personal data will be transferred to the plugin provider. This will include IP addresses which are then used to serve you relevant ads.
Who has access to your personal data?
We share your personal data with various organisations so we can fulfil our contract with you to help us run our business and to fulfil our legal obligations.
These include: Marketing Agencies, Accountants, Webhosts, IT and CRM Agencies. We also use Microsoft, DropBox, and Infonotes to ensure that we run our business efficiently.
If you are one of our consumer customers: we will share your details with the suppliers in your geographical area who are able to give you a quote for the work, you require. Our suppliers are registered with us and we ensure that they are reputable and certified where appropriate. We will discuss this with you in our phone call so that you are aware of what is happening every step of the way.
We ensure that our systems are robust, and we will only share your data with organisations who have appropriate safeguarding mechanisms in place such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We have Data Processing Agreements with our Data Processors and never sell personal data to third parties unless we have your agreement to do so.
If Leads 2 Trade is sold or transfers its assets to another party, your personal data could be one of the transferred assets. If your personal data is transferred it will remain subject to this Privacy Notice. Your personal data will be passed onto a successor in the event of a liquidation or administration.
What are your rights?
You have several rights which you can access free of charge. In certain circumstances we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee if your requests are unfounded or excessive.
